Andrew Tweed Biography

As a freelance musician and Yamaha Artist, Andy works in both jazz and classical settings, playing saxophones, clarinet, bass clarinet and flute on the London West End show circuit.

Andy is a regular member of the Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, Streetworks and Carismático Tango.  Performing credits include Flotilla (with Kyle Horch), Mike Westbrook, Pasadena Roof Orchestra, The Philharmonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Chris Dean’s Syd Lawrence Orchestra.

Andy records and produces music for TV and Film in collaboration with his partner Karen Street. Recent recordings include the Pinewood Saxophone Quartet with Kyle Horch and the Delta Saxophone Quartet.

Andy studied clarinet and saxophone at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with Ruth McDowell and Jan Steele. Andy subsequently was the lead saxophone teacher at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Wells Cathedral School. He has given masterclasses and workshops at Royal College of Music, Trinity Laban, Leeds College of Music, Chetham’s School of Music and many more.
